Sabrina Carpenter: Toronto Music Video

Filming the "In My Bed" video for Sabrina Carpenter was a massive exercise in technical problem-solving. The creative vision required her to float seamlessly above her bed, which meant we couldn't just "fix it in post"—we needed a safe, rock-solid rigging solution on set.

As a Toronto cinematographer, I find that these moments are where the best work happens. We utilized a custom overhead lift rig in a green screen studio to physically suspend Sabrina, allowing for natural, fluid movement that digital effects just can't mimic.

My focus was ensuring the lighting remained consistent between the physical set and the floating elements. Shooting on the ARRI Alexa, we balanced high-end aesthetics with the strict safety protocols required for a stunt like this. It’s a perfect example of how music video cinematography in Toronto is pushing boundaries with practical effects.
